Welcome to my world of style. I hope you find helpful tips here and find inspiration to make getting dressed everyday a little less stressful.
Some background…
I’ve always had my own sense of style and wasn’t necessarily one to follow the masses. In high school, while the other millennial girls were shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, or American Eagle (I mean, ok, I bought things there sometimes), my favorite store was Rampage at the King of Prussia Mall. I vividly remember a denim on denim look from there that was my favorite. Back to school shopping was an all day affair at KOP each year – if you’ve ever been, you know!
I was the girl prepping for family vacation by stocking up on InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue magazines to read on the beach. I made lists of outfits to pack so I had every piece necessary to have complete looks (multiple looks actually to be ready for every possible activity).
Fast forward 1 major dropped and 1 college transfer later to becoming a Fashion Merchandising student hoping to become a buyer for a major brand some day. My love of fashion could turn into a career? Mind blown!
Now let’s get to the part that ultimately led me to this point, here, today. I’m taking seminar, which is basically fashion school alumni speaking to us undergrads about their jobs. One of the guest speakers was telling us about her retail job and how she was making so much more money than her friends working at brands’ headquarters in New York. She went on to talk about the cost of living in New York and how low entry level salaries were. And that is when my wheels started spinning. I could do this fashion thing, make a decent living, and do it anywhere I wanted? Because if I’m being honest, living in New York was never appealing to me, like ever.
Present Day:
I’m so thankful for that guest speaker that day in seminar. I wish remembered who it was to reach out. Today I am working for a leading women’s retail brand in a position that nobody saw coming. I get to put my love of fashion, style, and trends to work for me everyday. Life is good.
Stay tuned for fashion advice, styling tips, outfit ideas, and more. Thanks for being here with me!
